Ack Attack Post 13: Tuner CL

The Acura Cl is very classy and sophisticated - not a car generally thought of as being a Tuner car. First Gen Cl's and Second Gen Cl's are about 50/50 with the modding. Modding is generally for the younger generation, but some older people have gotten into the tuner-mode as well. It is more difficult to get accessories for modding for older cars, hence 1st gens. This is because they are too old and since tuning was not popular when they came out, parts were not made for tuning them. The 2nd gens are easier to tune because part are made for them. Also, since parts are so large on Cl's, such as the hood, an aftermarket carbon fiber hood is relatively expensive in comparison to that of the Integra.

There are a lot of people who have modded their Cl's and do not show it, hence sleepers. This is partially due to fun and partially due to the difficulty in modding the cars. Of course easier mods can be done: clear corners, blacking out tail lights, intake, racing seats, sound system, and underglow. In order to put a turbo in this car though, you have to do an engine swap - which is an added difficulty as well as an added cost.
